Mer Bleue Bog is one of the largest bogs in southern Ontario and arguably the most important natural area in the Greenbelt. Ecologically, Mer Bleue is an especially valuable example of a northern ecosystem - more typical of the Arctic than the Ottawa Valley - and it has been designated an internationalsignificant wetland under the United Nations' Ramsar Convention.
This a great landscape shot. I love reflections like this and this one is a perfect example of how to get them right. First, the exposure and contrast are excellent. The sharpness in this is excellent as well. You got the water perfectly showing the clouds above. The foreground is also in great focus, although the trees in the background look like they might be slightly out of focus. Im inclined to think that this may be more due to the way the grasses lead into the trees, making it look that way, rather than it being a photographer error. Without being able to see the image at a greater magnification, im inclined to go with the first option, considering how much attention there is to the focus in the foreground.
The composition is also very well done, with the clump of grasses in the foreground to add scale, as well as being on the horizontal and vertical "rule of thirds" which also suggests you were paying close attention to composition. I also like the vignetting, although I would suggest that it be a bit darker or exclude it, as it is less noticeable in the bottom two corners as compared to the top. As a possibility for improving the image you might try adding a human/animal presence if you get the chance, although this is just a suggestion, since the image is excellent as it is. Great capture!
What a calm and peacefull scene. I really like the composition and the detail in this photo. I allso like the clear reflections in the water, it gives the photo a very nice and calm feel. The colors and the textures are very nice as well in this shot. The slight vignetting is a nice way to frame this shot as well. All in all this photo is a very nice piece of art that would fit nicely on any wall. It has a calm feeling and it is so well composed. Really nice work. This is one of few times that I give 5 stars...
